2. LJ Parkway lowering
Fort Bend County and Levee Improvement District No. 19 are lowering LJ Parkway in Sugar Land from University Boulevard to Hagerson Road. The road has a visibility issue for drivers turning from LJ Parkway onto Hagerson Road. The issue is due to a former levee that was not removed. The intersection did not meet state requirements for an all-way stop or traffic signal, which was originally requested by residents. The project is being contracted through LID 19 with the county contributing funds. LID 19 is managing the project. Construction started in July and is expected to last 90 days.
