Why are you running for office?

I’m running for reelection to continue advocating for my constituents and continuing my fight for affordable healthcare, increasing the minimum wage, common sense gun reforms and strong public schools.

What are your qualifications for why you’d be a strong candidate in this role?

I have 16 years experience and a proven track record of delivering for my constituents and Texans. I have consistently held leadership positions and won numerous awards for my legislative accomplishments.

If elected, what will be your top priorities?

If reelected, my top legislative priorities are continuing my fight for affordable healthcare, increasing the minimum wage, common sense gun reforms, strong public schools and criminal justice reforms.

What are the biggest challenges facing this district and how do you plan to address these issues?

The biggest challenges facing my very diverse district are the ramifications from the anti DEI (diversity, equity & inclusion). I am fighting for minorities to have economic opportunities and a level playing field in procurement with the state and local government.

What projects are most important for the legislature to focus on for the future of Texas?

I believe that Texas needs to invest more in our public schools and not on private school vouchers for the rich at the expense of our neighborhood public schools.

What do you see as the greatest challenge for Texas in the next 5 years?

Texas leads the nation with the highest number of uninsured residents. Many people don’t have access to healthcare. That’s why I have been and will continue fighting for Medicaid expansion in Texas.

Why are you running for office?

I am running out of service—continuing a legacy of servant leadership shaped by my mother, educator Melba Prevot, and my own military service. I believe leadership means listening, informing and serving families with integrity while helping communities navigate policy decisions that affect education, opportunity and quality of life.

What are your qualifications for why you’d be a strong candidate in this role?

I bring real-world experience in education leadership, operations and public service. I’ve managed organizations, built programs and worked with diverse families across District 27. My military background reinforces discipline, accountability and service-first leadership—skills directly applicable to legislative work and constituent advocacy.

If elected, what will be your top priorities?

My priorities include education transparency and choice awareness, workforce development and responsible fiscal policy. I will focus on ensuring families understand existing laws, improving pathways to career readiness and supporting policies that strengthen local communities while respecting taxpayers and parental involvement in education.
