Why did you choose to run for Fort Bend ISD board of trustees?

I am running for re-election because stakeholders deserve an advocate who asks important questions on their behalf and who devotes time and energy to understanding student outcomes and district spending. I will work to keep district priorities focused on improved student achievement, innovation, inclusivity, safety and fiscal responsibility.

What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Fort Bend ISD?

Providing high-quality education in a safe environment is my priority. Our children, families and community deserve the best. The district must remain focused on ways to recruit and retain highly qualified staff, inspire public trust through meaningful stakeholder communication, provide competitive compensation, and deliver exceptional student programs and instruction.

What do you think is the most pressing issue for Fort Bend ISD, and what will you do to address it?

Texas state leaders have shifted funding, local autonomy and educational support away from traditional public education, making support for our students and staff more challenging. I remain a focused and vocal supporter of public schools and will work towards legislative advocacy that supports neighborhood schools in our district and statewide.

How do you plan to involve residents in the decision-making process?

Residents, students, staff and families are encouraged to speak at board meetings, complete surveys and to volunteer on decision-making committees. Hearing our students’ voices is so important, I initiated the student engagement survey in 2022. Residents can provide input directly to me as I work hard to respond to communications.

How should the district prepare to address the stagnating student population?

The district must increase exceptional and innovative academic and extracurricular opportunities to recruit and retain students at the elementary and secondary levels. This includes, but is not limited to, career and technology offerings for industry-based certifications and occupational licenses as well as offering associate degree programs at more high schools.

With the expansion of alternatives to public schools, what offerings should Fort Bend prioritize for its students?

Prioritizing commitment to stability, innovation, and safety for students, families and community starts with offering school-wide and district-wide opportunities that create a deep sense of belonging and pride. I am “FBISD Proud” and “Public School Proud”. Please join me in supporting our students, our district and public schools.

Why did you choose to run for Fort Bend ISD board of trustees?

As a public school product and father of three in FBISD, I’m stepping up because current boards rely on outdated methods. We need fresh, community-driven leadership to support our teachers, cut red tape and put our classrooms first.

​What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Fort Bend ISD?

My top priority is empowering teachers by cutting administrative busywork, providing competitive compensation and reallocating funds directly into classrooms. Great education starts by supporting the educators doing the actual work.

​What do you think is the most pressing issue for Fort Bend ISD, and what will you do to address it?

Tight budgets and shifting enrollment are pressing challenges. I will push for independent financial audits to eliminate bloat, redirect funds to classrooms and implement interactive budget reports for total transparency.

​How do you plan to involve residents in the decision-making process?

I want to move beyond the three-minute microphone slot at formal meetings by establishing direct, recurring feedback loops with parents and teachers, and transforming underutilized facilities into vibrant community hubs.
