Before its regularly scheduled May 11 meeting, Fort Bend ISD's board of trustees will hold a 2026-27 budget workshop in preparation for its approval in June.
What’s happening?
As the board of trustees decides on the budget for the 2026-27 school year, Chief Financial Officer Bryan Guinn and other district officials have provided updates on where FBISD currently stands heading into the new fiscal year.
The most recent update May 4 showed the district was set to face a $35.9 million shortfall, up from the initial projection of $26.2 million last summer, Community Impact previously reported.
However, Guinn said the district is expected to end the 2025-26 year less than budgeted.
