Feral hogs have been spotted in the Fairway Ranch and Briarwyck neighborhoods in Roanoke, causing the Roanoke Police Department to invest $2,000 into handling the issue, Roanoke Public Engagement Manager Sandra Pettigrew said. The $2,000 will cover contracting a licensed wildlife specialist to survey, bait, monitor and trap the hogs using safe and humane methods, she said.
