The restaurant, located inside Lakeway Resort and Spa, recently completed an interior refresh. Large canvases showcase vintage aerials of the resort in its early days, including an image of the 1963 pool, still in use today.
“The point [of the refresh] is paying homage to the history of this place, but [also] trying to bring it forward,” Food and Beverage Director Rohan Sreenivasan said. “[At the same time], we feel like there’s an opportunity to be one of the destination dining spots ... not just for Lakeway, but for the whole Lake Travis area. ... We have something to offer just about every audience.”
Fall menu
This fall, the culinary team rolled out a seasonal update. Dishes highlight autumn flavors, such as lobster bisque and a house-made chili crafted from steak trimmings trimmed in-house. Dessert offerings lean into pumpkin and butternut squash, embracing the season’s colors and flavors.
At the recent Taste Lake Travis event, the restaurant won over locals with its smoked Asian barbecue brisket served in edible spoons, alongside house-pickled cucumbers and onions. Guests called it the best bite of the event.
Additionally, the restaurant has added daily specials on top of their usual happy hour.

Much of the restaurant’s audience comes from locals looking for something fresh nearby.
Wine dinners, whiskey tastings and special food-focused events have drawn crowds from the area.
The September wine dinner sold out within a week and a half, with more than 40 attendees, plus a waitlist, and the four-course whiskey tasting with Still Austin Whiskey Co. already has 22 people signed up. That momentum is driving the restaurant’s holiday plans.
The Thanksgiving buffet is set to be a major draw, with reservations already in high demand. Guests can expect carving and dessert stations, as well as all the classic sides, with the talented chef Jennifer Norell’s modern twists.
The buffet will be served in time-block seating throughout the day, starting at 11 a.m. and running until 6 p.m. Multiple dining rooms, including the Sunset Room, will host guests. Football games will play on 80-inch screens scattered throughout the space, blending holiday tradition with a social festive atmosphere.
“Let us do the work for you,” Sreenivasan said. “This will be an elevated, upscale Thanksgiving meal.”

What’s ahead?
Christmas brunch is on the horizon, along with a growing schedule of live music performances to bring more energy into the space. Guests can expect everything from saxophone sets to guitar and piano, chosen not to overpower, but to elevate the dining experience.
“[We want to] keep the community engaged,” Sreenivasan said. “People aren’t traveling for vacations as much, but that doesn’t mean our community can’t come in, dine and have a good time.”
The refreshed restaurant, the creative fall menu and a lineup of holiday events are all pointing toward one clear direction: ‘Sixty-Three Restaurant & Bar isn’t just a part of Lakeway’s history; it’s setting itself up as part of its future.
