Since opening its doors in January, Shoot 360 has quickly established itself as a game-changing hub for basketball development in Austin. More than just a training facility, Shoot 360 is where advanced technology meets mentorship, community and personal growth.

“We had a fantastic opening month,” franchise co-owner “Coach Ed” Arcinue said. “Over 100 members joined right away, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. The experience here is often described as even better than people expected.”

With 50 locations worldwide, Shoot 360 combines cutting-edge basketball analytics with immersive, interactive drills that are customized for every skill level. This scalable, gamified training system is a powerful motivator for young athletes and adults alike.

For every player at every level

One of the most powerful aspects of Shoot 360 is its inclusivity.

“Shoot 360 is open to everyone no matter their age, skill set, gender or any other factor,” franchise co-owner John Moseley said. “The technology is scalable, so whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced player, there’s a level and pace that fits you, and it’s all designed to help you improve while having fun.”

With eight progressive levels of training and more than 50 unique drills, the technology adapts to each individual’s pace, making the journey toward improvement both approachable and rewarding.

Players aren’t on that journey alone. Trained coaches are always on hand to guide, support and encourage. From walking first-time visitors through the equipment to helping seasoned athletes fine-tune technique, coaches use what they call the four Cs: connect, correct, challenge and compete. Whether it’s building confidence or breaking bad habits, their goal is to ensure every player gets the most out of every session.

A safe space to grow and mess up

At Shoot 360, confidence isn’t just a goal; it’s a byproduct of preparation. The facility was built on the belief that when players are given the space to put in the work, improvement and confidence naturally follow.

"Preparation builds confidence. It's not about suddenly feeling confident, but about the work put in that leads to real progress,” Coach Ed said. “We've seen it time and time again with kids, after just a few months, parents are telling us their kids are taking more shots, making more shots and even bringing the ball up the court with ease.”

A big part of that process is normalizing mistakes. Coaches at Shoot 360 actively encourage players to challenge themselves, take risks and embrace failure as part of growth.

“This is a safe space to mess up,” franchise co-owner John Hervey said. “If you’re doing every drill perfectly, you’re not pushing yourself hard enough. We want players to go full speed, make mistakes and then learn how to adjust.”

That mindset doesn’t just apply to basketball. By helping players understand that failure is part of progress, not something to fear, Shoot 360 is also teaching lessons that carry into school, relationships and life beyond the gym.

“We teach players that life isn't about striving for perfection; it's about striving for excellence,” Hervey said. “When you aim for excellence, mistakes are inevitable. The key is learning from those mistakes and minimizing them. This lesson is applicable across all areas of life.”

Hear from the players

The impact of Shoot 360 is best told by the players themselves. Their stories highlight the transformative power of dedicated training, supportive coaching and a positive environment.

Jakin Bao

Fifth grader Jakin Bao was drawn to Shoot 360's high-tech training to improve his shot. He enjoys the facility's competitive games, such as quick fire and the daily shootout, which allow him to compete against players nationwide.

"I can now make threes more consistently and even make some NBA threes,” Bao said.

Bao appreciates the detailed feedback from the machines, which tell him his arc, depth and left/right accuracy, allowing him to see what’s wrong when he misses. The encouraging coaches also provide valuable advice on his shooting form, helping him get better with each session.

Bao feels that Shoot 360 has made him a more confident player because he gets "more shooting reps" and the coaches "are really encouraging and cheer me up every time I couldn’t do well and get frustrated".

Ava Jefferson

Ava Jefferson, a point guard and shooting guard, finds that Shoot 360 makes her "more confident as a shooter overall".

She values the sheer number of shots she can take during a session, a significant advantage over traditional practice. While she usually trains by herself, she sometimes notices the scores of other players, which pushes her to improve her own performance in a friendly, competitive way.

For Jefferson, the welcoming atmosphere is key to her positive experience at Shoot 360. The supportive environment makes her training sessions both enjoyable and effective.

"I feel really comfortable at Shoot 360 because I'm close with a lot of the coaches,” she said. “It’s fun to go, and I get to improve my shooting, get stronger and get a good workout in.”
