In 2024, the team focused on providing families with relief and stability by giving away $500 in monthly H-E-B gift cards to two families for an entire year. These families are facing hardships from parent loss to job loss, and this ongoing support will help them navigate the year with less stress and a lot more hope.
One of the families who received this gift is led by 22-year-old Wyatt, who tragically lost his mother last year. Despite the heartbreak, he stepped up in a huge way to care for his younger siblings. Wyatt refused to let them be separated, fighting for full guardianship to ensure they remained together. He now supports his siblings on his income alone.
When the team at The Carlson Law Firm learned about Wyatt’s story, they were moved by his selflessness and determination to be a father figure to his siblings. In addition to caring for them, Wyatt is also working hard to renovate a rundown barn house on their property, which will take time and resources to transform into a proper home. Wyatt’s strength, courage and unwavering commitment to his siblings exemplify the true meaning of Christmas— being there for the ones we love.
Giving back to local communities
In addition to supporting families like Wyatt’s, Carlson’s Christmas Miracle also reached out to local organizations.
This year, the team had the privilege of volunteering at the Killeen Food Care Center, where they distributed 300 $30 gift cards to families in need. The team also donated thousands of Christmas gifts to children and hygiene essentials like shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes to help individuals maintain their well-being during tough times.
They also visited a Round Rock nursing home, where they handed out blankets and gifts to residents. For many seniors, the holidays can be a lonely time, and The Carlson Firm was honored to bring a little warmth and comfort to their lives.
