AustinISD_redThe Texas Education Agency gave seven Austin ISD schools with children from low-income households high regards for the 2014-15 school year. The seven schools, classified as Title I schools for having at least 40 percent of students come from low-income households, were designated as high-progress, high-performing, or both. A high-progress school is in the top 25 percent in annual improvement or demonstrating the ability to close performance gaps, while a high-performing school has distinctions basked on reading and math performance, according to a news release by AISD. Four Title I schools received both high-progress and high-performing recognition.
