Hays County commissioners to reconsider Kyle Vista Park as Eastside Campus facility site

Precinct 1 Commissioner Debbie Ingalsbe and Precinct 2 Commissioner Michelle Cohen will sponsor the recommendation to no longer consider Kyle Vista Park as a destination for the facility. Discussion on the agenda item will be held in an executive session closed to the public, according to agenda documents.

“Ensuring vital county services are established closer to residents on the eastside remains invaluable,” Ingalsbe said in a social media post. “We are committed to finding a location that best serves our community’s needs while ensuring these essential services are accessible to the families who rely on them.”

Hays County will host an open house June 25 to share information on the development and hear from community members. The come-and-go style event will take place at 5:30 p.m. at Gemstone Palace, 1101 Bunton Creek Road, Kyle, according to previous Community Impact reporting.

“East Hays County is growing, and with that rapid expansion comes new opportunities to better serve our residents,” Cohen said in a social media post. “With the significant population growth we’ve experienced and accompanying demand on county services, this facility is needed to ensure residents have convenient access to the programs, offices and support they deserve.”
