Hays County is proposing the development of an approximately $65 million administrative facility on the city of Kyle’s east side. The Eastside Campus would be a three-story building housing 175 total staff members and a variety of services.
On June 25, Hays County will host an open house to share information on the development and gather feedback from community members. The come-and-go event will take place at 5:30 p.m. at Gemstone Palace, 1101 Bunton Creek Road, Kyle.
The gist
In August 2025, the city of Kyle agreed to combine three development projects through a memorandum of understanding with Hays County: the Hays County Eastside Campus, a regional animal shelter and Kyle Vista Park.
On Jan. 20, the Hays County Commissioners Court authorized the issuance of $100 million in certificates of obligation to fund office and administrative buildings, including the Eastside Campus, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
The open house will provide an opportunity for residents and community members to interact with county staff and ask questions about the services planning to be offered at the facility.
“This project represents an opportunity to thoughtfully plan for the needs of our growing community,” Hays County Precinct 1 Commissioner Debbie Ingalsbe said in a news release. “By participating in these open houses, residents can help shape a campus that reflects our shared priorities and supports families across eastern Hays County for years to come.”
The Eastside Campus will house various offices and services, according to previous Community Impact reporting, including:
- Sheriff’s office
- Precinct 2 constable, justice of the peace and commissioner’s offices
- Elections, budget, auditors and tax offices
- Veterans services
- Adult and juvenile probation offices
- County administrator and clerk
- Office of Emergency Management
- Precinct 1 visitors office
“Community participation is essential as we plan for the future of the Eastside,” Hays County Precinct 2 Commissioner Michelle Cohen said in the news release. “This format is designed to give residents direct access to the experts shaping this project and to ensure that the voices of our community remain at the center of the process.”
