Kyle City Council unanimously approved $495,065 for the design and construction of a splash pad at Steeplechase Park with Oasis Waterplaygrounds Inc., a manufacturer of splash pad and fountain equipment, at its regular meeting April 4.
According to agenda documents, the funding comes from the amended Capital Improvements Spending Plan for fiscal year 2022-2023.
“City Council had set aside $500,000 for a new park development on the East side of Kyle but they reallocated that $500,000 to go toward the splash pad at Steeplechase,” Parks and Recreation Director Mariana Espinoza told Community Impact.
Aside from Oasis Waterplaygrounds, the city also received bids from Kraftsman, Seaspray LLC and Water Splash. Espinoza said they chose Oasis Waterplaygrounds based on overall presentation, design ideas, price and splash pad amenities.
