Another weekendlong closure set for the Loop 1604/I-10 interchange in North San Antonio

Texas Department of Transportation representatives warned motorists to be careful as another multiday closure will be affecting the I-10/Loop 1604 interchange in North San Antonio.

Current situation

The following portions of roadway will be closed from 9 p.m. May 3 to 5 a.m. May 6 as part of the continuing Loop 1604 widening project:

• Loop 1604 westbound main lanes at the I-10 interchange
• Loop 1604 eastbound and westbound main lanes, and frontage roads at the I-10 interchange
• Cloverleafs from the I-10 westbound ramp to westbound Loop 1604, eastbound Loop 1604 to westbound I-10 and eastbound I-10 to eastbound Loop 1604

A closer look

TxDOT officials said these closures around the I-10/Loop 1604 interchange will allow work crews to continue new bridge construction as part of the Loop 1604 expansion and improvement efforts.

TxDOT officials also said motorists traversing the general vicinity over the weekend can expect to see detour-induced traffic congestion at major freeway crossroads and exits such as Valero Way/Agave Pass, Lockhill Selma Road, UTSA Boulevard and La Cantera Parkway.

Work crews are overseeing nightly closures elsewhere on Loop 1604 because of expansion-related activities.
