The Guadalupe County Schertz Annex building is on track to open its doors in the spring, Guadalupe County Public Information Officer Carmen Davila said.

Services at the Schertz annex relocated in March to begin the construction process, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.

What you need to know

The $4.14 million renovation project will accommodate more voters, according to the county website. The new design will increase the capacity to 190 people, decreasing the potential for voter lines extending to outside the building.

Alongside voter accommodation, the renovation also includes compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and provide ease of access to departments within the building.

Departments that will be housed at the facility include:
  • Commissioner Precinct 3: Commissioner Michael Carpenter
  • Constable Precinct 3: Constable Jeff Large
  • Justice of the Peace Precinct 3: Judge John Terry
  • Elections Office: Elections Administrator Lisa Hayes
  • District Clerk’s Office: District Clerk Linda Balk
  • County Clerk’s Office: County Clerk Teresa Kiel
Until the renovations are complete, services will continue to be offered at the Guadalupe County Service Center, located at 1052 FM 78, Schertz.
