Services at the Guadalupe County Schertz Annex Building, located at 1101 Elbel Road, will be temporarily relocated to the Guadalupe County Service Center, located at 1052 FM 78, Schertz.

The details

During the March 19 commissioner’s court meeting, the relocation of offices was approved for the interior reconstruction project at the Elbel Road building.

According to a March 22 news release, the following departments will be relocated to the Guadalupe County Service Center:
  • County clerk
  • District clerk
  • Elections office
  • Justice of the peace
  • Precinct 3 constable
During construction, Precinct 3 Commissioner Michael Carpenter's office will be located at the Guadalupe County Courthouse, located at 101 E. Court St., Seguin.

“The Schertz Annex building is in need of maintenance and renovation to better accommodate the current [and future] services being provided there. Highest on the list of design elements is accommodating voters during elections,” Carpenter said in the release. “A long, interior hallway will be constructed so that at peak times most citizens—if not all—will be indoors [shielded from the elements and near to additional and upgraded restroom facilities] during their wait in line to cast their vote.”

All departments are planned to be in their temporary space by the end of April. Additional information about Guadalupe County services can be found here.
