The Semmes Branch Library closed on Nov. 18 for a scheduled maintenance project.

What you need to know

The project includes restroom improvements, interior and exterior painting and improvements to the ceiling. According to a Nov. 18 news release, the project is expected to be completed in January.

During the closure, staff will allow patrons to pick up and drop off materials by utilizing curbside service.

Curbside service will be available at the following times:
  • Monday: 4-8 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed

The restoration of the patio is also underway, with the expectation that the patio project will continue into 2025, following the reopening of the library, according to the news release.

While Wi-FI will be available in the parking lot and book drops will remain open, the San Antonio Public Library invites patrons to get to know nearby libraries during the construction period.
