The city of Cibolo finalized a $2 million acquisition on Aug. 19 of the Noble Group Event Center, located at 203 S. Main St., according to a news release.

The details

A resolution for the purchase was approved by City Council on July 23.

According to the release, the purchase will enable the city to address the growing needs of the community and expand its municipal facilities.

Noble Group Event Center is located on the corner of S. Main Street and Loop 539. In the same area, city buildings include City Hall, Fire Station No. 1, City Hall Annex and the Police Department.

As part of the terms of the sale, the city agreed to lease the property back to the seller through February 2025.

“The city of Cibolo is extremely grateful to Dr. Donovan Jackson and his family for coming to the city first and foremost to offer the opportunity to acquire the Noble Group Event Center ...” Mayor Mark Allen said in the release. “We feel that with the Police Station and City Hall to the east, Fire Station No. 1 and the City Hall Annex building to the west, this new property fits like a glove here in Cibolo and is an opportune acquisition by the city.”

As of the acquisition, there are no specific plans for the facility, but the proposed use is expected to be announced in spring 2025.

"This acquisition represents an important step in our commitment to enhancing the services we provide to our residents," City Manager Wayne Reed said in the release. "We are excited to move forward with this project and ensure that our facilities can accommodate the needs of our expanding community."
