A new multifaceted facility, which will provide residents and commercial businesses with specialized services in development, will soon open in Guadalupe County.

The Guadalupe County Development Center is a 17,000-square-foot building that will serve as a one-stop shop for development services, according to a Sept. 21 news release.

Services include:
  • Permitting
  • Developmental regulations
  • Subdivision plats
  • Geographic reference maps
  • 911 addressing
  • Management the enforcement of public violations
"The new development center is centrally located in Guadalupe County and is well suited to support professional services in terms of growth and safety," Precinct 2 Commissioner Drew Engelke said in the release. “Engineers and environmental health staff will now all reside in the same building. We were using offices at the old hospital ambulatory and had some departments working in two separate buildings. This facility is now able to support future services ensuring positive and well-planned growth within the county.”

Commissioners Court approved the contract with the Koehler Company for preconstruction services on May 11, 2021.
