Hometown Harvest will be held at Pickrell Park's large pavillion, located at 703 Oak St., Schertz.
What you need to know
The farmer’s market will be a recurring, monthly event happening in the months of April, May, June, September, October and November, according to an email from Director of Public Affairs Linda Klepper.
Hometown Harvest will feature fresh and locally grown produce and handmade goods and give priority to farmers and ranchers. If space allows, local artisans and community promotions may also be featured at the market.
The cause
The city conducted a survey for its Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Trails, or PROST, Master Plan asking residents what activities, events and programs were of most interest to members of their household.
The PROST Master Plan is a 10-year plan that was finalized in December 2024. It will establish a community vision and help guide the city’s decisions for parks in Schertz, according to the city’s website.
Survey results indicated that members of the community were most interested in a farmer's market, followed by art, music or food festivals and aquatic programs for all ages.
