Each year, a Spring Clean-Up event is held in Schertz to give residents the opportunity to get rid of household waste and hazardous waste.

What residents should know

The event is in partnership with Republic Services. It is limited to Schertz residents, and requires a copy of a current city of Schertz utility bill and proper identification to make a drop-off.

Residents are limited to two pickup truck loads per household or one trailer per household. Trailers must not exceed 16 feet long and 4 feet high.

Commercial waste will not be accepted during the event.

On March 16 and 17, hazardous waste will be accepted. Up to eight tires per household can also be dropped off on these days. A full list of acceptable hazardous waste can be found here.
