Amy Thomas will retain her board of trustees seat following unofficial results from Guadalupe and Bexar Counties. Thomas led with 74.51% of the votes, while Aaron Matheny received 25.49% of the votes.

Thomas said she was humbled by the trust and confidence the community has placed in her to continue serving on the board.

"Serving as a trustee is both an honor and a responsibility I hold close to my heart, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to keep advocating for our students, supporting our educators and strengthening the schools that bring us together," Thomas said in a Facebook post. "Together, we'll keep building on the strong foundation that allows every learner to thrive."

Incumbent Amy Thomas leads early vote totals for Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD board of trustees Place 5, according to totals from Guadalupe and Bexar counties.

Breaking it down

Thomas ran against Aaron Matheny, pulling in 4,391, or 74.51%, of early votes. Matheny received 1,502, or 25.49% of early votes.


Thomas told Community Impact her priority if re-elected would be preparing students for post-graduation success and ensuring teaching staff have the tools needed to best serve students.
