Universal City

In Universal City, six candidates filed for a place on the May 6 ballot for the Universal City City Council positions up for election.

Universal City has three at-large positions available, which are held by William Shelby, Richard “Dick” Neville and Bear Goolsby.

Goolsby and Neville will run as incumbents, while Shelby did not file an application in the election.

Four other candidates—Richard Edwards, Ashton Bulman, Christina Fitzpatrick and Bernard Rubal—will also be on the ballot.

Universal City voters will select three candidates on the ballot, and the top three vote-getters will be the new City Council members.

Live Oak

The city of Live Oak will have an election May 6 for City Council places 1, 3 and 5, held by Mendell D. Morgan Jr., Erin Perez and Aaron Dahl, respectively.

Perez and Dahl are running uncontested and will be sworn in following the canvassing of the votes.

For Place 1, three candidates have filed for a place on the ballot. Incumbent Morgan will run against LaTonya Green and Angela Green.

Cibolo

Voters within Cibolo District 5 will choose between four candidates for City Council District 5 on the May 6 ballot.

The candidates are Shari McDaniel, Jeff McGlothin, Norma Sanchez Stephens and Joe Potts.

Judson ISD

The last day to file for a place on the ballot for the May 6 election was Feb. 17.

For the Place 7 seat, incumbent Rafael Diaz will be running against Monica Ryan.

The single-member District 1 seat was also on the ballot for 2023, but incumbent Suzanne Kenoyer is running uncontested, meaning she will retain her seat following the canvassing of the votes.
