The context
The new elementary school will be located in the city of Selma, off Retama Parkway.
In 2022, JISD voters supported a $345 million bond for safety and security as well as the construction of new facilities.
On Feb. 8, the board of trustees approved the bid rankings for the construction of the new school, with Nunnelly General Contractor having the lowest bid of $48.38 million.
What’s next?
Construction on the nearly 60,000-square-foot campus is expected to be complete in July 2025, in time for the start of the 2025-26 school year, according to district staff.
