During a special meeting Feb. 8, the Judson ISD board of trustees approved the bid rankings for a new elementary school.

The details

The rankings included bids from two vendors, with Nunnely General Contractor having the lower bid at $48.38 million. The second bid of $49.9 million was submitted by D.L. Bandy Constructors.

The approval of the rankings allows district administrators to execute contracts and documents related to the elementary school project. Funding for the project will come from bond funds approved by voters in 2022.

This new school will be the 21st elementary school for JISD and will be located off Retama Parkway in Selma.

What's next

Superintendent Milton "Rob" Fields, III said the contract shall commence on or around March 1, and the goal is to have the elementary school completed by the start of the 2025-26 school year.
