The middle school construction is funded through a bond passed by voters in 2022. The project broke ground in May.
For the naming of the school, district staff have created a document where community members can submit their ideas alongside an explanation of the idea.
According to the document, the school must be named after the residential community, geographic area or feature of the neighborhood, the local municipality, or to honor an outstanding person who has attained educational prominence in the district.
The deadline to submit an idea is March 17 at 11:59 p.m.
The board of trustees will make the final decision regarding the naming of the school, which is planned to occur during the March 21 meeting.
