During a May 24 Cibolo City Council meeting, District 2 Council Member Steve Quinn officially resigned while Victor M. Osorio II was sworn in.

Mayor Stosh Boyle thanked Quinn for his service to City Council, and the work that was accomplished during the two and a half years that Quinn served District 2.

“Two and a half years of you being on council, I can’t give you all the credit, but I tell you what, you were definitely a catalyst to gluing this council together, and we covered a lot of ground,” Boyle said.

Quinn showed his appreciation for his time on council, having accomplished restaffing of the city, infrastructure projects and more to lead the city into what he considers a better future.

“Thank you citizens of Cibolo; thank you city staff; thank you my fellow council members, past and present, for your support and everything that you guys have done,” Quinn said. “Y’all made this job enjoyable and made me want to come in here every council meeting because I knew there was something that we needed to accomplish.”

Quinn was replaced by Victor M. Osorio II, who won the majority vote during the May 7 election. Quinn wished Osorio the best during his time as a council member.

“We always try to leave a place better than what we came into,” Quinn told Osorio. “I challenge you sir to leave it better than I left it. Continue pushing, continue doing what you need to do, and be you. Don’t be anybody else, be you, and represent the citizens of District 2 and represent the citizens of Cibolo, and you will go far, far, far as a council member.”
