A Latin film festival, events for dog owners and a property tax workshop are among happenings scheduled around San Antonio during the third weekend of July.

Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center presents the 44th CineFestival. The event features screenings of feature and short films and television and streaming programs for all tastes and ages, all created by independent Latino/Latina filmmakers locally and regionally. Some films have free screenings but still require a ticket.

Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy will present a bird walk. Attendees will learn the basics of birding and set out for a walk. Visitors are urged to bring their own binoculars, wear comfortable shoes, bring water to drink and dress appropriately.

Dog Guide San Antonio will present Fido Film Fest, a family friendly summer evening for pet owners at Legacy Park. A dog-themed movie will be screened while vendors offer various pet products. There will also be free drinks and dog toys and other giveaways.

The city of San Antonio is partnering with San Antonio Legal Services Association to offer a workshop to help local homeowners learn about and file property tax exemptions. Legal aid volunteers will directly help homeowners complete and submit tax exemption forms on site with Bexar County Appraisal District. Check-in begins 30 minutes before the start of the event. Attendees are helped by the order of arrival, and the number of people assisted may be limited based on the number of volunteers. Spanish and American Sign Language interpreters will be on-site to help with translation services.
