With 55% of polling locations counted, unofficial Nov. 8 election results showed five Republicans victorious in congressional and legislative races affecting the north San Antonio area.

Just prior to midnight, District 21 U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, R-Dripping Springs, was winning with 62% of the vote against Democratic challenger Claudia Zapata, D-Kyle.

District 23 U.S. Rep Tony Gonzales, R-San Antonio, had 56.4% of the vote in his re-election effort, outpacing Democrat John Lira, who tallied 38.9% and independent Frank Lopez Jr., who collected 4.7%.

Republican State Rep. Steve Allison, the Texas House District 121 incumbent, was winning his contest with 54.9% of the vote against Democrat Becca Moyer Defelice, who received 45.1%.

Republican Mark Dorazio had 55.9% of the vote in a three-way contest for the Texas House District 122 office left open when Republican Lyle Larson opted not to seek re-election.



Democrat Angi Aramburu placed second with 41.3% and Libertarian Stephanie Berlin totaled 2.7% in the District 122 race.

Republican Donna Campbell was re-elected to the Texas Senate District 25 office with 62.2% over Democrat Robert Walsh, who had 37.7%.
