A Bed Bath and Beyond store in north central San Antonio is among 149 total stores that the financially struggling retailer plans to close, according to a Feb. 7 company announcement.

An updated list of scheduled closures includes Bed Bath and Beyond’s location at Park North retail center, 522 N. Loop 410 W., Ste. 103.

The company has three other San Antonio stores that appear to be unaffected by the planned closures.

Company officials have said they are reducing their total number of stores from 760 to 360 with a goal of maintaining more profitable locations.

Company officials added that they are selling $1 billion in stocks to pay their debts. No timeline for the Park North location closure has been provided.

“This transformative transaction will provide runway to execute our turnaround plan. We continue to put our customers at the center of every decision, positioning Bed Bath and Beyond to meet and exceed their expectations while resetting our foundation for near- and long-term success,” company President and CEO Sue Gove said in a statement.
