A $50 million renovation project at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in west San Antonio is expected to be complete late this spring.

Alterations at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa that began in fall 2022 are scheduled to wrap up by late May, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

According to representatives for Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, the renovations will result in an overhaul of the facility’s 500 guest rooms and suites showcasing an upscale, ranch-inspired aesthetic.

The rooms will be outfitted with premier amenities, brand new wood flooring, and unique Texas artwork and photos paying tribute to the resort’s history as the location of the Rogers-Wiseman Ranch, resort representatives said.

Representatives added that improvements include enhanced event spaces, with the Hill Country Ballroom, Fredericksburg Ballroom and all indoor breakout rooms featuring new carpeting, wall coverings, light fixtures and sound systems.

The resort’s general manager, Steven Smith, said the revamp will produce an upgraded, authentic Texas Hill Country resort experience for its guests.

“As one of the state’s first destination resorts established in 1993, we are excited to begin a new chapter for the hotel while continuing to ensure the unmatched guest experiences and service our guests have come to know and love from our property over the last three decades,” Smith said in a statement. “The updates will place emphasis on our unique location on the grounds of the historic Rogers-Wiseman Ranch as well as pay homage to our distinctive culture and setting here in Central Texas.”

Updates in the guestrooms and suites will include warm neutral tones with an accent wall, a stylish rug, a chaise lounge, LG 65-inch class 4K smart ultra-high-definition televisions, as well as bathroom upgrades.

The changes will also include a conversion of all double-double rooms to two queen beds, the release said.

Improvements in the event/meeting spaces will include a blend of soothing hues, textures and classic patterns that both are inspired by the resort’s surrounding landscape and are paying homage to the resort’s heritage.
