Contractors with the city of New Braunfels will begin repaving a section of Walnut Avenue from County Line Road to Klein Road beginning June 22, according to a news release.

What you need to know

Lone Star Paving will have alternating, overnight lane closures to allow construction crews to mill and repave that portion of the roadway. Roadwork will begin daily at 7 p.m. and end at 7 a.m., the release states.

The cost

The project—which costs $1.2 million—is being paid for using the additional $2 million of dedicated street maintenance funding approved in the fiscal year 2025 budget, the release states.

Once the final paving is complete, utility adjustments and striping will take two weeks from when work begins. Utility adjustments and striping will take place during the day, but will have minimal disruption to traffic. The project is slated to be complete by July 30, according to the release.
