Toni Carter will serve as the new council member for District 1 and Michael Capizzi will serve as the new council member for District 2, following the canvassing of the May 3 election results at the May 12 New Braunfels City Council meeting.

What you need to know

There were 845 votes cast for the District 1 seat in Comal and Guadalupe counties.

Carter received the majority of votes, with 439 votes or 51.95% of the vote. Incumbent Andrés Campos trailed behind with 342 votes. George Green received a total of 64 votes.

There were 503 votes cast for the District 2 seat. Capizzi received 287 votes, or 57.05% and Christopher Willis received 216 votes.

The next New Braunfels City Council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. May 27 at City Hall, which is located at 550 Landa St.
