Trustees approved $452,000 for furniture to be used at the new NBHS facilities, including outdoor and classroom furniture needed to open the new space, according to the agenda item.

The funding for the purchase comes from NBISD’s voter-approved 2021 bond Proposition A, which allocated more than $321 million for new facilities and upgrades to existing facilities, according to the district.
NBISD will be purchasing the furniture from Beasley, Texas-based educational supplier Educator’s Depot, according to board documents.

Voters approved the reconstruction of NBHS as part of the district’s 2021 bond projects. The project includes the addition of a new three-story academic wing, technical education learning spaces and the relocation of the Junior ROTC facility, tennis courts and practice field, totaling over $102 million, according to the district’s website.
What’s next?
NBHS Phase 2 reconstruction has already begun, with $226 million being allocated from the voter-approved 2024 bond for the construction of general education classrooms, a new JROTC space and new facilities for fine arts and athletics, according to the district.
