Flores previously served as Seguin ISD’s Executive Director of Human Resources and will be replacing Kathy Kenney who is retiring in the summer. He will lead NBISD’s HR department and oversee recruitment, compensation, benefits and employee relations, the news release states.
Beginning in 2004, Flores worked as a teacher, coach and assistant principal for 10 years before transitioning to a role in HR. Before working at Seguin ISD, Flores worked at Lubbock, La Vernia, South San and Alamo Heights ISDs, according to the news release.

Superintendent Laurelyn Arterbury said they were excited to welcome Flores to the district’s leadership team.
“His experience in human resources will be a huge part of continuing to support and develop our talented staff and teachers across NBISD,” Arterbury said in the news release.
Flores said he was “honored” and “thrilled” to join NBISD.
