Eight new businesses opened their doors recently in San Marcos, from car retailers and running gear shops to on-campus dining spots and dirty soda stops.

The nation’s largest used-car retailer opened its first location in the city this fall, adding a new in-person option for car transactions. Customers can buy or sell vehicles through the business either in person, online or both.

Core Running Company
The running store and movement center offers expert shoe fittings, gait analysis and personalized solutions to help increase running strength, comfort when walking and pain-free movement.

Corridor Collective
The business offers seven private offices with everything included in base rent, such as power, water, HVAC and high-speed fiber internet.

1911 Corporate Drive, Ste. 103, San Marcos
The customizable sandwich shop opened a new location on the Texas State University campus for the start of the 2026-27 school year. A remodel of the Undergraduate Academic Center was completed to accommodate the dining spot.

The new counseling practice brings individual and group counseling services to the city. Jessica Lepore, founder, owner and primary counselor, opened her San Marcos office to serve emerging adults, around 18 to 28 years old, and seniors aged 55 and up.

The popular Halloween retailer offers a variety of products to set the mood for the spooky holiday, including indoor and outdoor decorations, animatronics, costumes for all ages, collectibles and accessories. The store is located in the former Neiman Marcus Last Call space.

The dirty soda shop opened its first location in the city at the end of July, offering customers a variety of unique drinks. Swig’s dirty sodas let customers combine their favorite sodas with a variety of flavors, fresh fruits, purees and creams.

Students of Texas State University now have access to the chain Mexican restaurant serving classic dishes, from bowls and burritos to tacos and quesadillas. A remodel of the Jones Dining Center was completed to accommodate the eatery.
