A new coffee shop called Winslet Provisions opened inside Veramendi's Welcome Center at 2164 Oak Run Parkway in New Braunfels Jan. 24.
The details
Winslet Provisions is locally operated by Jerry & Meredith Purtle. The coffee shop sells hot and iced specialty coffees, such as an Eiskafee, which is a German iced coffee made with vanilla ice cream instead of milk froth, Jerry said. Winslet Provisions also offers chai and matcha lattes.
What's in a name
Winslet means “joyful place of gathering,” which is what the Purtles hope to create for customers who come visit the coffee shop.
What's special about it?
What sets Winslet Provisions apart from other specialty coffee shops in the New Braunfels area is the amount of space they offer, Jerry said.
"It's not a cramped space environment where you're shoulder to shoulder with folks," he said.
The Purtles plan on offering craft cocktails and acoustic music on the patio in the future. Meredith also said they hope to host small events for Veramendi residents and the New Braunfels community.
