Work crews tied to the ongoing Loop 1604 expansion in North San Antonio will oversee a nightly closure July 8-13 on part of the freeway.

In a nutshell

According to Texas Department of Transportation officials, the eastbound Loop 1604 frontage road will be closed from Gold Canyon Road to Redland Road from 10 p.m.-5 a.m. July 8-13.

TxDOT representatives said local traffic looking to access the Canyon View subdivision or the businesses between the Canyon View subdivision and the Redland Road exit will be escorted through the closure area during this time.

TxDOT officials advised motorists to beware of these other nightly closures, which are scheduled for 9 p.m.-5 a.m. July 8-13:
  • Loop 1604 eastbound main lanes between the Vance Jackson Road exit ramp and the Lockhill Selma Road entrance ramp
  • I-10 westbound main lane exit ramp to the Loop 1604 eastbound main lanes
  • I-10 eastbound cloverleaf exit to Loop 1604 eastbound main lanes
These segments of roadway will be closed to accommodate workers placing deck panels on the eastbound flyover ramp at the new I-10/Loop 1604 interchange.

Also of note

Additionally, Blanco Road in both directions between the eastbound Loop 1604 frontage road and West Blanco Road will be closed 10 a.m.-5 a.m. daily now through July 12.

This nightly closure, which began July 7, will allow for CPS Energy gas main work to take place.

The following roadways will be closed 9 p.m.-5 a.m. July 12-15:
  • I-10 eastbound main right lane at the Loop 1604 interchange
  • Loop 1604 westbound main lanes from the Lockhill Selma Road exit ramp to the I-10 interchange
  • Loop 1604 eastbound frontage road at the I-10 interchange
  • Loop 1604 eastbound exit ramp to I-10 eastbound
  • Cloverleafs from Loop 1604 westbound to I-10 eastbound and I-10 eastbound to Loop 1604 eastbound
TxDOT officials also said a recent change in construction schedules will reduce the number of weekend closures, especially at Loop 1604 and I-10.
