Applications for Round Rock Cares funds are now available to impacted residents, according to the city.

Round Rock homeowners who saw property damage due to the March 21 tornado may file an application for relief funds through Round Rock Cares at www.rrcommunityfoundation.com.

Since the fund was activated March 25, over $346,000 has been raised to support those impacted.

“On this two-week anniversary of the tornado, many families are still dealing with the long-term impacts of the damage,” Round Rock Mayor Craig Morgan said in the announcement. “While cleanup efforts are largely coming to a close, we must not forget our neighbors as they begin to rebuild.”

Preliminary damage assessments show out of 680 damaged homes in Round Rock, 13 were "destroyed," and 93 had "major damage." Neighborhoods identified as being heavily impacted are Kensington, Windy Terrace, Greenlawn Place, Windy Park, Turtle Creek, South Turtle Creek, South Creek, Concord at Brushy Creek, Forest Grove and Forest Bluff.

Residents whose homes sustained damage due to the tornado are asked to report it to the Texas Department of Emergency Management at http://damage.tdem.texas.gov and select "March Severe Weather." An expedited permitting process is also in place to assist residents working to repair their homes, according to the city.
