Recently released performance data for the 2026 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness administered this spring to grades three through eight show some gains and declines among Round Rock ISD students, compared to state averages.
The Texas Education Agency released statewide and district-specific test scores for the STAAR math, reading and social studies exams June 16. Science scores will be released July 31.

Round Rock ISD passes balanced budget, to call tax rate election to fund potential staff raises
Round Rock officials passed a balanced budget for the 2026-27 financial year June 16, with an understanding that the board will call a tax rate election for November.
The district's budget for the upcoming school year will result in a small surplus, district documents show. As reported in May, the version of the budget without the passage of a tax rate election does not include pay raises for employees not covered by House Bill 2.
Should the tax rate election pass, RRISD Chief of Human Resources Eddie Curran said the district would generate funds needed to provide a 2% general pay raise, increase starting teacher pay to $58,000 and address pay compression throughout the district.

Round Rock ISD STAAR end-of-course exams show growth across most subjects
Students in Round Rock ISD saw significant improvement on end-of-course exams administered for Algebra, English, Biology and U.S. History earlier this spring.
Results were released by the Texas Education Agency on June 10. Results show growth statewide in the number of students meeting grade level expectations across content areas.
