In the days after Christmas, some residents will go from gathering around the Christmas tree to wondering how to get rid of it. The city of Richardson has a few ways to dispose of them, along with any cardboard boxes leftover after gift giving.
What you need to know
Through Feb. 2, residents can recycle trees at the Municipal Service Center, located at 1260 Columbia Drive, 24/7.
Residents can also leave the trees at their curbs and call 972-744-4111 to request a brush and bulky item collection on their designated collection days. Those doing so are encouraged to request the tree be collected for composting when calling for collection.
