The Prosper ISD board officially hired its new superintendent.
The board approved the appointment of Greg Bradley as the new superintendent at an Oct. 21 special called meeting.
Bradley served the district in various roles from 2012 to 2025 including:
Principal of Reynolds Middle School, 2012-17
Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations, 2017-20
Deputy Superintendent, 2020-25
"When the board began this search, we were looking for a leader who understands what makes Prosper ISD special. No one understands that better than Dr. Bradley," Board President Kelly Cavender said in a Sept. 30 district news release.
How we got here
Bradley is taking over the position after former superintendent Holly Ferguson retired earlier this year. Ferguson served nearly six years as superintendent and 28 years in the district.
In May, Deputy Superintendent Bill McLaughlin served as acting superintendent while the board searched for Ferguson’s permanent replacement.
The district hired a search firm to fill the position. The firm gathered input from the community and the board interviewed several candidates for the position in September. Board members invited Bradley, who was the Ennis ISD superintendent and former Prosper ISD employee, to interview for the position, as well, according to board documents.
The board named Bradley the lone finalist on Sept. 30. In Texas, the final candidate is known as the lone finalist, and the law requires a 21-day waiting period between that announcement and when the new leader can be formally hired.
