Plano Public Library card holders can now pick up reserved items at the city’s Liberty Recreation Center as of June 8.
The gist
Card holders can use the city’s library app or online catalog to choose any book from the city’s five libraries, according to a city news release. They can then scan their card or enter their card number on a locker screen to pick up items ready for checkout.
Library lockers can also be used to return library items, according to the release.
“These lockers are just one example of how community support can expand opportunities for learning, connection and discovery across Plano,” President of Plano Library Friends Emily Moore said.
The background
Plano Library Friends, which funds the city’s library lockers, is a non-profit organization established in 1965 that works to elevate the city’s library experience, according to its website.
Plano first launched a library locker at the city’s senior recreation center last year.
