Since last week: 135 coronavirus cases, 2 deaths reported in Collin County

In the seven days since the state took over coronavirus case tracking and reporting for Collin County, there have been 135 additional cases.

As of June 8, state data shows 1,036 case recoveries in Collin County—a 94 case increase from the week before. The state's dashboard also has a one-day lag period for recovery data by county.

The county has had a total of 1,447 cases since reporting began in mid-March, according to the dashboard.

As of June 8, Collin County had the eleventh-highest number of cases out of the 235 counties reporting. Harris County, which covers a large portion of Houston, has the most cases in the state, with 14,423.

Collin County reported its 37th death of a person who had tested positive for COVID-19 on June 8. The 75-year-old Dallas man died in a Plano hospital and has no known underlying health conditions, according to the report. The death of an 89-year-old Frisco man with underlying health conditions was reported June 6.

Neighboring Dallas County is ranked with the highest number of deaths, with 262 reported since mid-March.

Collin County's online dashboard is expected to make a return in the coming days, according to an update at a June 8 Collin County Commissioners meeting.
