Hutto inks contracts for CR 132 realignment

Five individual project orders will push forward the CR 132 realignment project following Hutto City Council approval at its Jan. 9 meeting. The contracts amount to just over $1 million.

About the project

The CR 132 project includes the construction of a new two-lane roadway section with a 10-foot shared-use path.

The scope of the road project includes realigning about a half mile of CR 132, from north of Limmer Loop to CR 133. The city will also reconstruct a bridge-class culvert on CR 132, as well as add a detention pond with potential six-foot walls.

Utility construction along CR 132 will affect traffic through Jan. 31. Construction takes place weekdays from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and flagging crews stop traffic periodically during this time.

The update

Hutto City Council passed five contracts for the road project Jan. 9. The individual project orders establish scope of services with several contractors and follow the master service agreement from Nov. 7.

The project orders include:

• $811,000 for design services, environmental studies, utility coordination, and bid and construction phase support
• $113,239 for subsurface utility services, utility coordination and survey
• $44,000 for right-of-way land services
• $33,245 for geotechnical engineering services
• $18,600 for appraisal services
