Don’t Tell Mama Tattoo, Cedar Park’s first tattoo shop, is heading to South First Street in Austin.
The tattoo studio is owned by husband-and-wife duo Brooke and James Dupper. The couple opened the original Don’t Tell Mama Tattoo in Cedar Park in 2025. Now, the small business owners are planning to expand exactly two years later, with a new Austin-based shop. The new shop is slated to open on New Year’s Day.
“We are incredibly grateful and excited to have the opportunity to open a shop in Austin,” Brooke Dupper said. “Our goal is to offer a unique, welcoming experience rooted in expert craftsmanship and genuine connection.”
Meet the team
Brooke and James Dupper will open the new tattoo shop with Erynn Olkowski, director of operations, Ray Bazaan, lead tattooer, and Tabitha Baladez, shop manager.
Brooke and James Dupper opened their first tattoo shop in Killeen in 2015. The couple opened their second shop, Iron Rite Tattoo South, four years ago in Georgetown.
What we know
Don’t Tell Mama Tattoo will offer all styles of tattoos via walk-ins and appointments. The location will not offer piercings.
The new location will share the brand’s values and commitment to offering quality services, Brooke Dupper said. Each location, however, develops its own personality through the artists, team and clients.
“We look forward to the energy, opportunities and new challenges that come with being in the city, while bringing the same sense of community we've built at our other shops,” Brooke Dupper said.
More details
Expanding to Austin felt like a natural next step for the owners, Brooke Dupper shared. The owners are renovating a 696-square-foot house that previously served as a tattoo shop for over two decades.
“We are excited to preserve a little piece of that history and continue its legacy as a tattoo shop,” Brooke Dupper said. “We think we will fit right in and we are beyond excited to become part of the community.”
