Hutto special election for mayor, City Council Place 3 to be held March 6

Hutto's special election for the mayoral seat and City Council Place 3 will be held March 6.

The special election was ordered Dec. 3 to fill the seat vacated by former Mayor Doug Gaul, who resigned Nov. 5. Since then, Council Member Mike Snyder has served as mayor pro tem.

Snyder is running against Steven R. Harris, who served on the boards of Hutto's Economic Development Corp. and Community Development Corp.

Snyder’s election bid leaves Place 3 vacant, and Amanda “Mandi” Villarreal Salvo and Randal Clark are running against each other for the position.

Election day is March 6, and voting will take place 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at Wilco Hutto Annex, 321 Ed Schmidt Blvd., Ste. 100, Hutto.
