The Pearland and Friendswood area offer the chance to welcome the holiday season this weekend with seasonal events. Residents can enjoy a Christmas Parade, get active with a 5k and more.
FLAPJACK FUN RUN

The city of Friendswood Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its fifth annual Flapjack Fun Run. The run consists of a 5K where the male and female winners will receive a free year of Whataburger. The race is named after Whataburger breakfasts. There will also be a postrace breakfast served to the 200-400 expected participants. All money raised goes to improving Friendswood parks.

Pearland Market Days in holding its second annual Holiday Showcase at the Pearland Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall. Patrons can enjoy dozens of local vendors. There will also be live music and food trucks at the event.

PEARLAND HOMETOWN CHRISTMAS PARADE
Dec. 7
Celebrate the season and Pearland’s 38th Hometown Christmas parade, this year with a “Toy-land” theme. Residents are invited to park in shopping center parking lots along the route and watch the decorated parade floats as they go through town. Businesses, nonprofit organizations, families, individuals and civic groups are invited to have a float in the parade.
