Pearland residents invited to attend town hall on drainage improvements for Longwood Park

The city of Pearland will host a town hall to engage the public on the upcoming Longwood Park Drainage Improvement Project on April 1.

The town hall will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 1 at City Hall Council Chambers, located at 3519 Liberty Drive, Pearland, according to a city social media post.

The city plans to provide project updates, answer questions and gather resident input for the final design at the town hall meeting, according to the post.

The backstory

Drainage improvements to the Longwood Park subdivision on the city’s east side could require the removal and replacement of driveways, driveway culverts and utility adjustments, as well as mills and overlay of existing asphalt pavement, according to the city’s website.

The project is expected to cost $4.8 million and will be covered by the bond voters approved in 2023, according to the city’s website.

Construction is estimated to begin in May and wrap up in June 2027, according to the city’s website.
