Pearland funds feasibility study for more complex sidewalk improvements

Repairing these more challenging gaps means navigating open drainage ditches, limited right-of-way space, utility conflicts and strict accessibility requirements that standard construction methods can’t address, according to city documents.

How we got here

In 2023, Pearland voters approved a roughly $181 million bond package—including more than $26 million for streets, bridges and sidewalks, which included over $15 million for sidewalk gap infill and replacements, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.
