With all polling places reporting in Brazoria County, incumbent Toni Carter won against Rich Bradley and Chris Counts for Position 1 of the Pearland ISD board of trustees with 3,926 votes, or 50.39%.
For Position 2, incumbent Kristofer Schoeffler won against Azania Salazar with 4,872 votes, or 58.52%.

As polls closed at 7 p.m., results are starting to roll in for local elections across the state.
Local races for Pearland ISD board of trustees Positions 1 and 2 are on the ballot.
Here is where things stand with the first batch of unofficial results, according to Brazoria County.

As of 7:55 p.m., unofficial results from Brazoria County show the following:
- For Position 1, incumbent Toni Carter is leading Rich Bradley and Chris Counts with 2,491 votes, or 48.15%, to 2,166 votes, or 41.87% and 516 votes, or 9.97%, respectively.
- For Position 2, incumbent Kristofer Schoeffler is leading Azania Salazar with 3,375 votes, or 61.32%, to 2,129 votes, or 38.68%.
Diving in deeper
In a Q&A with Community Impact for Position 1, Carter said that she wants to continue to find and address weak spots, especially in special education, and maintain a balanced budget in the face of declining enrollment and state rate compression.
Counts said she wants to address the lack of transparency between educators and parents, as well as issues related to bullying.
Bradley said he wants to ensure responsible stewardship of district and taxpayer resources and strengthen campus safety.
In a Q&A for Position 2, Schoeffler said if elected his priorities are focused on safety, achievement, transparency and fiscal responsibility.
Salazar said she wants to strengthen special education through compliance, staffing and family trust, support and retain educators amid rising mandates and build community trust through transparency.
